This nanoliter dispenser forms the key component of the high-speed, low-volume, contactless dispensing machines manufactured by the firm Labcyte. These types of systems are used for the preparation of low-volume assays used in genetic research. We were responsible for product design, material selection and engineering.
The nanoliter dispenser is based on a critical and unique needle with an external diameter of 0.305 mm and an internal diameter of only 0.161 mm. The plastic body and tip are manufactured on our own injection molding machine from PEEK: a chemically inert biocompatible material. The body and capillary are assembled with the aid of biomedical grade glue and a miniature O-ring. In addition to production and assembly, quality control and packaging is also carried out in our Proto & Pilot Production department.
