Bikefitting

Modular, wireless, motorized bike fitting system.

Customer Challenge

Finding the perfect bike fit based on an individual’s body geometry is a complex and time-consuming process. Traditionally, cyclists had to test multiple frames and components, often limited by the availability at retailers. To overcome these limitations, Shimano introduced the Fitbike: a universal, fully adjustable bike designed for professional bike fitting. However, the existing model was due for a complete upgrade—both in terms of hardware and software—to meet modern expectations for precision, usability, and performance.

Result

The new generation Bikefitting solution delivered significant improvements:

  • Highly accurate bike fitting, adjustable to tenths of a millimeter.
  • Faster and more efficient fitting sessions, independent of physical bike inventory.
  • Enhanced user experience through a modern, intuitive design.
  • Greater flexibility, allowing fitters to simulate real-world riding scenarios with ease.

Applied Technology

    • Modular Bike Architecture: Adjustable saddle, handlebars, and frame geometry for maximum flexibility.
    • Motorized Adjustment System: Enables both manual and fully automated positioning with extreme precision.
    • Variable Pedal Resistance: Simulates different riding conditions such as flat roads, climbs, or mixed terrain.
    • Software Dashboard: A clear and intuitive interface to control, monitor, and optimize all fitting parameters.

TSG Contribution

TSG Group partnered with Shimano to redesign and engineer the next-generation Fitbike. Our designers and engineers developed a robust metal frame combined with high-quality plastic casings that protect the internal hardware while giving the bike a dynamic and premium appearance.

We were responsible for the mechanical design, motorized adjustment systems, and the integration of the software dashboard. The result is a future-proof Bikefitting solution that delivers unmatched precision, reliability, and ease of use—bringing cyclists closer than ever to their ideal riding position.
