Customer Challenge

Antennex, a high‑tech startup originating from Eindhoven University of Technology, develops innovative measurement instruments for the wireless testing and characterization of next‑generation integrated antenna systems. These systems are used in applications such as 5G, 6G, automotive radar, and sensing technologies.

The key challenge was to realize a fully functional demonstrator for a novel antenna measurement methodology within a very tight deadline. The solution had to reliably operate across a wide frequency range, meet stringent technical requirements, and be ready for market introduction at an international conference in the United States.

Result

TSG successfully delivered a fully operational demonstrator within the scheduled timeframe, enabling Antennex to showcase its core measurement technology. The system allows antennas to be measured wirelessly in a reverberation chamber, eliminating the need for traditional and costly anechoic test environments.

As a result, Antennex gained access to a more efficient, scalable, and reproducible antenna measurement and characterization method, strengthening its position for market entry and further product development.

Applied Technology

The solution combines a robust physical measurement setup with advanced software and signal processing capabilities. TSG designed and engineered a measurement chamber that functions as a Faraday cage across a broad and high‑frequency range, including a precisely sealed door construction to ensure measurement integrity.

In combination with a high‑performance spectrum generator and advanced algorithms, the reverberation chamber creates a reproducible electromagnetic environment. This enables accurate characterization of antenna properties of the device under test without the need for physical RF connections.

TSG Contribution

TSG collaborated closely with Antennex through a co‑design and co‑engineering approach, integrating system architecture, mechanical design, software integration, and project management into a single development trajectory.

In addition to delivering the demonstrator, TSG supported the setup and structuring of the supply chain required for future development and scaling. This integrated approach allowed Antennex to meet both its technical ambitions and its aggressive timeline, laying a strong foundation for commercialization and future growth.
