Military operations often require rapid mobility across challenging terrains. Traditional bridging solutions are heavy, complex, and slow to deploy, limiting operational flexibility. The challenge was to create a bridge system that is lightweight, modular, and easy to install, enabling fast deployment under extreme conditions.

Result

The Lightweight Modular Bridge (LMBRG) delivers a scalable solution for defense and security missions. Its modular segments allow for quick assembly and adaptable span lengths. The design ensures high load capacity at minimal weight.

Segment weight: aprrox. 9 kg per module, allowing manual handling by a small team
Load capacity: up tot 180 kg, suitable for light and medium military vehicles
Deployment time: complete assembly in under 70 seconds with a trained crew
Transport efficiency: fits onto a backpack with straps and can be worn on standard military armor. Different use of lightweight materials, incl. Dyneema.
